Freedom4 Joins it!

As per their company website http://www.freedom4.com/pg.asp?p=1068

FREEDOM4, (a joint venture between Pipex + Intel Capital and partner of Airspan Networks, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, and National Grid Wireless )

&

ConnectMK (formed by Milton Keynes Council )

have finally joined hands to deliver Wimax services in 3.6 GHz band as predicted below .

Mobile Wimax in 3.6GHz authorised

As suggested in my previous post, companies have consulted ofcom. ;o)

Ofcom came out with following statement as per their web source http://ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/bb_application/statement/

"We consider that the continuation of the restriction on mobile use in UK Broadband’s licence is not justified and our examination of responses suggests that there are no compelling reasons not to vary the licence as proposed in the June consultation document."

"Removing restrictions on the licensee will benefit consumers, encourage competition, optimise use of the spectrum and is therefore in the interests of citizens and consumers. Ofcom also believes that the likelihood of interference to other users is low."

Let's wait for the Mobile Wimax of our favorite players Pipex , Intel , Nortel , Freedom4 and Airspan .

The availability of 3.6 GHz can make this band a major choice in UK.
